Whitney brings me back to a point in my life where innocence was abundant. We were young schoolgirls singing on the playground, at girl scouts, and in in our bedrooms. That was when superstars were untouchable, inaccessible and put on a pedestal. It was before we knew the evils of drugs and that no one was excempt from the demons it created. Until Whitney we still believed in fairytale endings, and through memorizing the lyrics of I Will Always Love You we learned that although love lasts forever, sometimes you walk away. Her songs soothed us through grade school crushes and gave us dreams of growing into strong women.
Thank you Whitney for your beautiful voice and being a part of our childhood dreams. Rest peacefully.
